Hearts & Arrows Diamonds

Higher Ideals

If you want the highest possible level of diamond craftsmanship, you want a Hearts & Arrows Diamond: a diamond cut with such precise symmetry that it displays a distinct pattern under a special viewer, demonstrating its superior light performance.

Beyond the Ideal Cut Diamond

The highest achievement of the diamond cutter’s art, Hearts & Arrows Diamonds have perfect optical symmetry that makes them explode with brilliance and fire. That’s why Hearts & Arrows Diamonds outperform every other premium diamond, including ideal cuts and diamonds with excellent cut grades. Hearts & Arrows Diamonds achieve maximum light reflection and refraction. You can see the difference: Hearts & Arrows Diamonds throw off larger flashes of light and more sparkle than diamonds cut with less precision.

How to Identify

Hearts & Arrows Diamonds

The cut quality of Hearts & Arrows Diamonds can be seen directly by looking through a ideal scope or ASET viewer, which is a tool used to grade cut at the American Gem Society Laboratories. (Compare this to the way cut quality is assessed for other ideal cut diamonds, which is estimated by looking at proportions and the polish quality, two good indirect indicators for how diamonds will handle light.)

In order for the pattern to be perfect, every facet of the diamond must be precisely oriented to create a hall of mirrors effect. This distinctive pattern is the only way to directly assess how a diamond is handling light, not estimating it indirectly from proportion measurements. One single tiny facet that’s out of place will disturb the pattern. It’s a breathtaking achievement of precision craftsmanship.
