How We Make Your Ring to Order

The RockHer Atelier · Los Angeles

Your ring does not exist yet.
That is the point.

Every RockHer ring is made to order in our Los Angeles atelier, proportioned to your exact diamond and your exact finger size. Nothing is pulled from a shelf. Production begins the moment you place your order.

Inside the atelier · casting, setting, and finishing in Los Angeles
Most jewelers do not make your ring. They assemble it.

The common practice online is to start with a stock ring in a standard size, attach a pre-made head, and resize the band to fit. It is fast, and it allows the actual manufacturing to be outsourced. It also leaves seams, solder joints, and stretched metal where strength matters most.

We take a slower path. Each ring is modeled, cast, and set as a single continuous piece, built around your stone and your finger from the first hour of production. No seams. No weak points. No compromises inherited from someone else's inventory.

From First Sketch to Final Polish

How your ring is made

1

DesignModeled to your stone and your finger

When your setting and diamond are confirmed, our designer opens a three dimensional model of your ring style and rebuilds it around two fixed facts: your finger size and the precise measurements of your stone.

Prong positions are set for the exact length and width of your diamond. The height of the setting matches its depth. The curve of the band and the placement of every accent diamond are adjusted to scale, narrower for a smaller finger, broader for a larger one, so the finished ring is balanced on your hand, not on a mannequin's.

2

The ModelA one of a kind pattern, printed for your ring alone

A high resolution 3D printer builds a resin model of your ring, yours and no one else's. We encase it in investment, a plaster like material dense enough to hold molten metal, then melt the model away. What remains is a perfect negative of your ring, captured through lost wax casting, a process jewelers have refined for thousands of years.

3

The CastPoured in gold or platinum, finished by hand

Your chosen gold or platinum is melted in our furnace and driven into the mold under centrifugal force, so the metal reaches every detail of the pattern. The casting cools slowly, allowing the metal to form a proper crystal structure, before the investment is broken away and the ring is filed, finished, and polished by hand until it gleams.

4

The SettingEvery diamond matched, every prong tightened by a master

Accent diamonds are hand selected and matched to the color and clarity of your center stone, so the ring reads as one continuous piece of light. Then a master setter seats your center diamond and tightens each prong individually, checking symmetry and security under magnification.

Before anything leaves the atelier, the finished ring passes a final gemological inspection. When it is right, and not one minute before, it ships to you fully insured. Most rings are completed in 8 to 12 business days, and we think the wait is the least interesting part of the story.

Why It Matters

What made to order changes about your ring

The difference is not sentiment. It is structural, and you will feel it for decades.

One continuous piece

Your ring is cast fresh as a single form. There are no solder seams between a stock band and an attached head, which are the first places an assembled ring loosens or fails.

Proportioned to your diamond

Prong position, setting height, and gallery openness are calculated from your stone's actual measurements. The diamond sits low, secure, and centered, the way it was drawn.

Sized from the start

Your finger size is built into the model before casting. The metal is never stretched or compressed after the fact, so the band keeps its full strength and its pattern stays true.

Questions about made to order

How long does it take to make my ring?

Most rings are completed in 8 to 12 business days from the moment your design and diamond are confirmed. Complex settings can take slightly longer. Your ring then ships fully insured, and we send tracking the moment it leaves the atelier.

Is my ring really made from scratch?

Yes. A new 3D model is created for your order, a fresh casting is poured in your chosen metal, and your diamonds are set by hand in our Los Angeles atelier. Nothing about your ring exists before you order it.

What if the size is not perfect when it arrives?

We include complimentary resizing for 60 days after delivery. Your finger size is built into the ring before casting, so most rings fit on the first try, but if yours needs refining we will make it right. Our Ring Size Guide helps you measure accurately before you order.

Can I return a made to order ring?

Yes. You have 40 days from delivery to live with your ring and be certain. Full details are in our return policy.

How do I know the diamond itself is right?

Every center diamond is evaluated by ROSI™, our gemological intelligence built by our gemologists, and reviewed by our team before it ships. You can request a ROSI™ Score Report on any diamond you are considering.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide with full insurance. International customers are responsible for customs duties and import taxes, which are not calculated at checkout.
