The mounting is solid 14K yellow gold, approximately 24 grams of precious metal depending on your size. That is several times the metal weight of a typical signet ring. The price reflects the true metal content at current market value plus the letter, which is carved from a single lab grown diamond in our Los Angeles atelier.

How heavy is this ring?

Depending on size, the finished ring carries approximately 24 grams of solid 14K yellow gold. It wears with real presence, the way a signet ring should.

Is the letter a real diamond?

Yes. Each letter is custom cut from one lab grown diamond, weighing 0.5 to 2.5 carats depending on letter complexity. Lab grown diamonds are identical to natural diamonds in optical, physical, and chemical properties, distinguished only by origin.

How long does it take to receive?

Each ring is made to order in our Los Angeles atelier. Allow 8 to 12 business days from order to shipment, then insured delivery.

Is the letter engraved into the ring?

No. The letter is a single solid lab-grown diamond, custom-cut in the shape of the initial you choose and set into the face of the ring. The outer edge of the letter is faceted to catch light and the center is left smooth, so the letterform reads clearly. Nothing is carved into the metal.

How do I choose my letter?

Select your initial from the menu above before adding the ring to your cart. Each diamond is custom-cut to render the letter you choose, so the initial cannot be changed after cutting begins. If you want a letter you do not see listed, speak with a gemologist and we will confirm what our cutters can do.

Is a lab-grown diamond a real diamond?

Yes. A lab-grown diamond is chemically, physically, and optically identical to a natural diamond: the same crystal, the same hardness, the same brilliance. Growing the rough in a lab is what makes a custom-cut letter of this size possible at this price.

What if the size is not right?

One complimentary resize within 60 days of delivery, up to 1.5 sizes, for U.S. orders. Some designs cannot be resized; our atelier will advise. How does gold hold up to daily wear?

Solid gold is made for a lifetime of daily wear. The color runs through the entire ring, so there is nothing to fade or wear away, and fine surface marks polish out easily. We recommend removing any ring for heavy lifting, but water, soap, and everyday life are not a concern.
