Warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush or cloth. Rinse and pat dry. If the piece includes colored gemstones, skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners; vibration and heat can do more harm than good.
Perfume, hairspray, and lotion before the bracelet, never after. Remove it before swimming, workouts, and heavy lifting; chlorine is unkind to gold, and impact is unkind to clasps and stones.
Lay it flat or hang it in a soft pouch or fabric lined box so links do not kink. Keep diamond pieces in their own compartment; diamonds will scratch softer stones and polished gold.

Wrap a soft measuring tape, or a strip of paper marked against a ruler, snugly around your wrist just above the wrist bone. That number is your wrist size, not your bracelet size.
Add about half an inch to your wrist measurement for a tailored fit, or a full inch for a relaxed drape. For a bangle or cuff, measure around the widest part of your hand with your thumb tucked; the bangle has to pass over it.
