The RockHer Brilliant Cushion

For those who love the unique character of the cushion cut and the light performance of the round brilliant, we refused to make you choose. Our patented Brilliant Cushion joins the antique charm of the cushion shape with the unrivaled brilliance and fire of a modern ideal cut round. Charm meets brilliance, in one stone.

The Design

Charm Meets Brilliance

The cushion has always been the romantic's shape: the softly rounded square of antique rings, glowing rather than flashing. Its historic weakness was the glow itself, because most cushions are cut for weight rather than light, and their looser geometry pays for the romance in brightness. The Brilliant Cushion was designed to end that trade.

It is a square cushion, brilliant cut to ideal proportions with such precision that it is noticeably whiter and brighter than both the standard cushion brilliant and the standard modified cushion brilliant. Look into the stone and you see a crisp hearts and arrows facet pattern, rotated to accentuate the softly rounded corners, never the crushed ice of a less precise cut. Fifty eight facets, each positioned and polished exactly, doing for the cushion outline what the ideal cut did for the round.

The Difference

Pattern, Not Crushed Ice

Put a typical modified cushion beside a Brilliant Cushion and the distinction announces itself. The typical stone sparkles in fragments, the crushed ice look, many small unstructured glints from extra pavilion facets and relaxed tolerances. It can be pretty; it is never precise, and in lower light it goes gray. The Brilliant Cushion reads instead as pattern: bold, symmetrical flashes from a hearts and arrows arrangement that only exists when every angle is exact.

Trait Typical Modified Cushion RockHer Brilliant Cushion
Facet pattern Crushed ice: many small, unstructured glints Crisp hearts and arrows, rotated to the rounded corners
Cut priority Weight retention from the rough Ideal proportions for light return
Brightness Softer, grays out in low light Noticeably whiter and brighter, round like performance
Verification Grade report only GIA report plus light performance imaging on every stone

The painstaking care required to position and polish those 58 facets is worth it, and you do not have to take the claim on faith: the difference is visible as more brilliance and more fire, on video, before you decide.

The Proof

Patented, Certified, Verified in Light

The Brilliant Cushion is manufactured under license from US patent USD639202 S1; the design itself is protected because the design itself is the product. Every stone carries a GIA grading report, and because the entire argument for this cut is its precision, every stone is also examined with light performance imaging, which shows directly how the diamond handles light, so that each Brilliant Cushion we offer is demonstrably brighter and more brilliant than the cushions around it on the market.

That is the standard the whole program runs on: the paper certifies what the stone is, the imaging proves what it does, and you see both before anything is purchased. A signature cut should not ask for belief. It should hand you evidence.

Who It Is For

Three Reasons Buyers Choose It

The Brilliant Cushion earns its place on a shortlist for three distinct kinds of buyer.

The Romantic

Antique Soul, Modern Fire

The softly rounded square carries all the heirloom mood of the antique cushion, with none of the dimness. It is the vintage silhouette finally performing at modern standards.

The Perfectionist

Hearts and Arrows, Squared

A visible, verifiable precision pattern in a shape where the market has learned to accept crushed ice. For the buyer who reads proportion tables, this is the cushion that finally deserves them.

The Individualist

A Face Few Hands Wear

Rounds are everywhere and rightly so. The Brilliant Cushion delivers the same caliber of light in an outline that turns heads precisely because it is not the outline everyone chose.

Every Brilliant Cushion is scored by ROSI™, our gemological intelligence, built by our gemologists, against the live market before it is offered, and you can put any stone, ours or anyone's, through the same scrutiny. Request a ROSI™ Score Report and compare on evidence.

An Honest Word
Most cushions ask you to trade brilliance for charm. This one was patented so you would never have to.

If your heart is set on the cushion's romance, you deserve to know that the ordinary version of the shape gives up real light to get it, and that a precisely cut alternative exists. Watch a Brilliant Cushion next to a standard modified cushion on video, in motion, and let the stones argue it out. The one with the pattern wins in every light you will ever stand in.

Questions

Brilliant Cushion Questions, Answered

What is the RockHer Brilliant Cushion?
Our patented signature cut: a square cushion, brilliant cut to ideal proportions, that joins the antique charm of the cushion shape with the light performance of a modern ideal cut round. It is manufactured under license from US patent USD639202 S1, and the precision of its cutting makes it noticeably whiter and brighter than both the standard cushion brilliant and the standard modified cushion brilliant.
What is the difference between crushed ice and hearts and arrows in a cushion?
Crushed ice describes the glittery, fragmented sparkle of most modified cushion brilliants: many small flashes with little structure, produced by extra pavilion facets and looser precision. Hearts and arrows is the opposite: a crisp, symmetrical pattern visible only when every facet sits at its exact angle. The Brilliant Cushion shows a clean hearts and arrows pattern, rotated to accentuate its softly rounded corners, never crushed ice.
Why do most cushion cut diamonds look less bright than rounds?
Because most cushions are cut to retain weight rather than return light: deeper pavilions, extra facet arrangements, and looser angle tolerances that leak light instead of relaying it. The Brilliant Cushion refuses that trade. It carries 58 precisely positioned facets cut to ideal proportions, so it performs like a fine round while wearing the cushion's romantic outline.
Does the Brilliant Cushion come with a GIA report?
Yes, every stone. And because cut precision is the entire point of the design, each Brilliant Cushion is also verified with light performance imaging, which shows directly how the diamond handles light, before it is offered. The paper certifies what the stone is; the imaging proves what it does.
Is a square cushion better than an elongated cushion?
Neither is better; they are different silhouettes. The Brilliant Cushion is a square cushion because that outline supports its rotated hearts and arrows faceting and its round like light return. Buyers who want a longer, finger lengthening look often choose elongated cushions or ovals, trading some of that patterned precision for spread. It is a taste decision, best made watching real stones move on video.
How do I choose between a Brilliant Cushion and a round brilliant?
By silhouette, since the light performance argument is, for once, a tie. Choose the round for the classic circle and the widest resale familiarity; choose the Brilliant Cushion for the softly rounded square, the antique mood, and a face that far fewer hands are wearing. Either way you are buying an ideal cut; the question is only which outline you want to look at for the rest of your life.
