Book a ConsultationOval diamonds are one of the fastest-growing shapes for engagement rings, featuring elongated brilliant facet pattern that lengthens the finger. Oval cut quality is not graded on GIA reports. Look for a length-to-width ratio of 1.35:1 to 1.50:1 for the classic oval silhouette, and watch for the 'bowtie effect', a dark area across the center. A well-cut oval has minimal bowtie.
Unique settings go beyond traditional solitaire, halo, and three-stone designs. Think asymmetric bands, toi et moi (two-stone) settings, hidden accent stones, east-west orientations, split-shank bands, and architectural gallery work.
Absolutely. Every unique setting can be further personalized, metal, pavé density, hidden diamonds in the gallery, engraving, band profile, and prong count are all customizable.
The most popular sizes are 1.5 carat, 2 carat, and 3 carat. Ovals face up 5 to 10% larger than rounds of the same carat weight, you get more visual size per dollar.
Both. RockHer offers GIA-graded natural oval diamonds and IGI-graded lab-grown oval diamonds. Lab-grown stones cost 60 to 80% less than natural at the same specs and are physically identical. Natural diamonds retain stronger long-term value.
