Oval cut quality is not graded on GIA reports. Look for a length-to-width ratio of 1.35:1 to 1.50:1 for the classic oval silhouette, and watch for the 'bowtie effect', a dark area across the center. A well-cut oval has minimal bowtie.

The most popular sizes are 1.5 carat, 2 carat, and 3 carat. Ovals face up 5 to 10% larger than rounds of the same carat weight, you get more visual size per dollar.
Both. RockHer offers GIA-graded natural oval diamonds and IGI-graded lab-grown oval diamonds. Lab-grown stones cost 60 to 80% less than natural at the same specs and are physically identical. Natural diamonds retain stronger long-term value.
