An oval diamond in platinum is the combination the trade reaches for when the brief is clean and white: the elongated outline of the oval, the most spread per carat of the classic shapes, held in a metal that is naturally white, never needs plating, and holds a diamond more securely than any gold. Every oval platinum engagement ring here is made to order in our Los Angeles atelier, modeled around the exact length and width of the oval you choose.
Platinum shows diamond color honestly, and ovals show color in their ends, so this pairing asks for a slightly whiter diamond than yellow gold would: G or H keeps the oval reading white against platinum. In return you get the brightest possible version of the shape and a ring that will weigh and look in thirty years what it does today.
One fair price
Each setting and each diamond carries a single price. No codes, no strikethroughs, no timing the purchase.
GIA or IGI certified
Natural diamonds graded by GIA. Lab diamonds graded by IGI. Our gemologist verifies every diamond against its certificate before it is set.
Resizing and warranty
60 day complimentary resizing, lifetime warranty, and the Ring Size Guide before you order.
Build your ring. Choose a setting below, then pair it with a natural or lab diamond from our inventory. A ROSI™ Score Report, our gemological intelligence, reads the cut performance and fair market position of any natural diamond you are considering, and John Anderson, our Lead Gemologist, reviews the shortlist with you.
Choose a Select ring. The Select rings arrive complete, with an IGI certified lab diamond already matched to the setting in the carat weight you choose.
Build Your Ring Explore Select RingsPlatinum and an oval are both honest. The metal shows the diamond's true color and the shape shows its bow tie. Choose a G or H with a faint bow tie and the ring will look expensive for the rest of its life. Choose a J with a dark bow tie and no setting will save it.

Platinum and an oval leave nothing to hide behind, which is the point and the risk. John Anderson, our Lead Gemologist, walks you through it on the phone or by video. Call 1-800-779-1726 or request a consultation. There is no charge and no obligation.
Yes. Platinum is naturally white and never needs plating, so an oval reads at its brightest against it, and platinum prongs hold the oval's long sides more securely than gold. It asks for a slightly whiter diamond, G or H, because it shows color honestly.
G or H. Ovals show color in their ends and platinum shows color honestly, so I and below can read warm. In yellow or rose gold the same oval could go to J.
No metal changes the size of the diamond. A slim platinum band and four prongs make the oval look as large as it can; a hidden halo adds light from the side; a visible halo adds spread.
Platinum if you never want to replate and want the most secure prongs. White gold if you want a lighter ring at a lower price. The oval looks the same in both on day one.
Either. Both are certified, natural by GIA and lab by IGI, and the setting is modeled to the diamond in both cases. Lab diamonds give you more carat for the same spend; natural diamonds are rarer and hold their place in the market differently. The setting, the production and the warranty are identical.
8 to 12 business days from the day the diamond is confirmed. The CAD model is built around the measurements on the certificate, the diamond is verified against the certificate by our gemologist, and the ring is finished and inspected in Los Angeles before it ships insured.
