Radiant cuts hide color and inclusions well thanks to their brilliant facet pattern, they perform like rounds optically. Popular length-to-width ratios: 1.00:1 (square radiant) and 1.20 to 1.30:1 (rectangular radiant).
The halo of melee surrounding the center stone adds approximately 0.3 to 0.5 carats of visual size, plus dramatically more sparkle. A halo also protects the center stone and allows a smaller center to look significantly larger.
Yes. Hidden halos sit under the gallery of the ring, visible only from the side profile, they add intimate sparkle without changing the face-up look. Visible halos add overt glamour; hidden halos add understated luxury.
The most popular sizes are 1.5 carat, 2 carat, and 2.5 carat. Radiants face up slightly smaller than emerald cuts of the same weight but show significantly more sparkle.
