Round diamonds are the most popular diamond shape, outsells all other shapes combined, featuring 57 or 58 facets engineered for maximum light return. Round brilliants are the only shape with a standardized GIA cut grade. Look for Excellent or Very Good cut grade; cut affects brilliance more than color or clarity at typical viewing distance.
