Opal is softer than most ring stones and carries natural water content, so remove the ring for housework, exercise, and anything abrasive, and keep it away from prolonged heat. Clean with a soft damp cloth only. Treated with that small courtesy, its play of color stays vivid for decades.
White gold is solid gold finished with a bright rhodium surface. With daily wear the rhodium softens over time, and a periodic replating restores the original brightness; it is a quick service our atelier performs.
