Yet again, the thickness of girdle or the intersection of the marquise diamond’s top and bottom facets, which outlines the circumference, should also be considered.
An excessively thick girdle contributes to the weight of 
the diamond and can affect the sparkling effect, whereas a thinner girdle may enhance the risk of chipping. So, the sufficient girdle thickness ensures safety and light performance of the diamond ring.
