The original Cushion cuts, known as ‘cushion brilliants’ were actually created before the round cut became popular, and cushion cuts were the standard for a long time. The classic cushion cut is also known by the name ‘antique-style cushion cut’ or ‘old mine cut.’ All these years throughout its existence, the cushion cut has been continually altered for improving its brilliance. across two types of facet patterns; crushed ice patterns, and chunky cushions. If you view a crushed ice cushion from the top, it will not have a clearly identifiable facet pattern. When the chunky cushion is viewed from the top, it displays a regular facet pattern, and the shapes the facets create can be seen.
