D is the highest colour grade GIA issues. VS1 places the inclusions beyond the reach of the unaided eye and beyond the reach of most trained ones. Together, in an oval spreading 20.81 millimetres across the finger, they describe a diamond that belongs in a vault or on a hand, and nowhere in between.
Polish and symmetry are both graded Excellent. The length to width ratio is 1.38, the proportion the trade reaches for and rarely finds at this weight, because a cutter working a crystal this large is usually defending carat weight rather than outline. This one was not.
The diamond is natural, certified by the Gemological Institute of America, and held under our name. It has not been previously set.
