How Your Ring Is Made

Once you select your diamond and engagement ring setting, add them to your cart and check out, we make your ring to order from scratch in our Los Angeles workshop. That’s how we can make sure that our craftspeople work in safe and healthy conditions and all of materials are responsibly sourced. We use recycled precious metals for all our engagement rings.

Unlike mass-market retailers, we don’t just weld together a stock ring and stone setting, then cut and bend them to adjust the size. Rockher uses a combination of old-world craftsmanship and state-of-the-art CAD-CAM to design your ring to fit you and your stone exactly.

We first measure the precise dimensions of your diamond and adjust the setting design in the computer to fit it. Then we scale the design to complement your finger size and stone size perfectly. We adjust the position of pave diamonds to follow the curve of the band around your finger, not some mass-produced sample size. Every detail is considered to make sure your ring looks custom made for you (because it is!) Once we are happy with the design, we’ll print a one-of-a-kind model and cast your unique engagement ring in one piece. Why do we go to the trouble to make each ring one at a time? Simply because it’s the only way to ensure the highest possible craftsmanship. A ring made in one piece with no weld or sizing cuts will be stronger and won’t have any visible joins or seams. It is a singular vision from the designer.

Create a Custom Engagement Ring

And if you don’t find the perfect style on our website, our designers can create a completely custom engagement ring just for you. At Rockher, the design fee is separate from the crafting of custom designed engagement rings, instead of hiding it in markups on the workmanship and gems. The $350 design fee includes three virtual meetings with your designer, three drafts of your design, a final rendered design, and even a resin version of your ring printed from the CAD/CAM design file so you can see your actual custom ring design in three dimensions. Other than the design fee, your custom design will be priced the same as all of our engagement rings.
